Peer-Leaders Project

Here Franklyn Poole is holding a one-on-one session with an offender

A fundamental part of transforming prisoners is having peer-leaders who can guide them and support the work of our volunteers on the inside. These peer-leaders teach others principles such as respect, consideration and the important of having long-term goals. The peer-leaders are trained through a variety of spiritual and practical programs. Currently we have 3 peer-leaders working in each of the 6 sections of the youth center in Drakenstein.

Those that have been identified as leaders are taken through a very intensive leadership course/training and we then walk a path with them as mentors and guide them into maturity.
